That time I tried to lock my phone inside a library safety deposit box at 8am
So I got this bright idea last Tuesday to force myself to study for my stats final by putting my phone in one of those little day lockers at the downtown library. The ones with the coin slot? Yeah. I paid my quarter, shoved my phone in, shut the door, and spun the knob. Then I realized I forgot my calculator in my car. And my car keys were in the same pocket as... nothing, keys were fine. But the real kicker was when I came back 2 hours later and the locker wouldn't open. The knob was stuck. I'm standing there jiggling it like an idiot, and this old lady with a stack of gardening books just goes 'Honey, you put the quarter in the wrong slot.' There were two slots! One for the lock, one for the return. I fed the return slot. So my phone was now officially library property until a librarian came with a key. She got it open, but now every time I see that locker I get a little embarrassed. Has anyone else ever paid to block themselves and just ended up with a bigger distraction like a panic attack?
