My app timer failed me at the worst possible moment during a deadline

I've been using this simple timer app on my phone for months to block social media during work hours. It worked fine until last Tuesday when I was trying to finish a report for my boss. I set a 2 hour block on Instagram and Twitter like usual, but about 30 minutes in I got a notification that the timer had expired. Turns out the app crashed and reset itself somehow. I ended up scrolling for a solid 20 minutes before I caught myself. Now I use two separate blockers running at the same time as a backup. Has anyone else had a timer app glitch out on them like that?

My cousin actually ended up in the ER with a blood clot in her leg from sitting too long binging shows on her phone, so yeah, 20 minutes adds up over time, @perez.thea. It's not just the scrolling itself, it's all the hours piled together without moving that messes with your circulation and focus. Small breaks every hour or so would fix most of the problem without giving up the scrolling entirely.
