I spent 6 months blocking YouTube on my phone but not my laptop

I thought I was winning the distraction war by banning the app on my iPhone, but I never touched the site on my desktop. Then last week my boss asked why my Chrome history had 80 tabs of cat training videos from 2 AM. Anyone else realize they were only half blocking something the whole time?

Whoa, wait, is having 80 tabs of cat training videos really that big of a problem though? Like yeah it's a little messy but it's not like you're missing deadlines or anything. Sounds more like a funny story than a crisis to me.

Honestly, "funny story" is generous for someone who's clearly being held hostage by their own browser. 80 tabs of cat training videos isn't a problem until your laptop fan sounds like a jet engine and you can't even find the one tab that has your actual work on it. TBH that's less "quirky" and more "I've accepted my fate as a cat whisperer." Ngl, at that point you're not training your cat, your cat is training you to keep those tabs open forever.
