Dropped $40 on a dumb app blocker and it actually worked lol
I was getting wrecked by YouTube shorts at work, like 45 minutes gone before I even noticed. So I bought this app called Freedom for $40 and set it to block video sites from 8 to 5 on my phone and laptop. First day I actually finished my fence layout in half the time. Has anyone else tried paying for a blocker vs just using the free phone timers?

Oh man, I get this completely. My experience is that the paid ones really do hit different because you've got skin in the game - it's way easier to ignore a free timer than something you actually dropped cash on. Plus Freedom blocks across all devices at once which the built-in stuff never seems to do right for me. Take it for what it's worth but I'd say that $40 is probably cheaper than what you'd lose in productivity over a month anyway.

Spending money on stuff just makes you commit to it way harder than free stuff ever does.
