When I used to stare at my blank wall for months before doing anything
Back in my apartment in Chicago around 2012, I'd just tape up a random band poster and call it done because I didn't think about what actually fit the room. Now I take a photo of the empty wall, measure everything twice, and browse secondhand shops for weeks before picking one piece. Do you guys plan your wall art for a long time too, or do you just grab something you like quick?

I was strictly a "grab a poster from a record store and slap it up" person for years. But then I inherited a terrible framed print of some sad clowns from my grandma and hung it out of guilt. Something about seeing that thing every day actually made me start paying attention to what was on the walls, like my brain finally clicked that a room is more than just a place to sleep. Now I'll literally sit on an empty wall for three months just waiting for the right thing to show up at a thrift store.
