Tried a gallery wall with 8 mismatched thrift frames vs one big statement mirror and the mirror won by a mile

The frames looked chaotic no matter how I arranged them, but the mirror instantly made my 10x12 living room feel twice as big. Anyone else ditch the collage approach for something simpler?

Oh man, are you me? I tried the exact same thing last year with a bunch of random frames from Goodwill and it just looked like a cluttered mess on my wall. I spent hours moving them around and it never clicked. Swapped it out for one big rectangular mirror from a flea market and it was like magic. My space feels way more open and airy now. I think mirrors just do something special for small rooms that a bunch of little frames can't match. Frames are cool but they break up the wall too much in my opinion.
