The empty wall in my kitchen stared at me for 3 years before I finally did something about it
I was at a friend's place in Portland last month and saw she had a big empty wall turned into a chalkboard with just one cool quote in the corner. It looked way better than any painting or shelf I've ever seen because it felt personal and easy to change whenever. Has anyone else tried something like a chalkboard or a magnetic wall instead of just hanging art?

Did you just use regular chalk paint or the magnetic kind?

Went with regular chalk paint and honestly it was a whole different level of regret. The brush strokes looked like I was trying to paint a masterpiece with a spatula. After three coats and a lot of swearing it finally looked okay but I'm pretty sure the magnetic kind would have saved me a headache and maybe a few beers.
