Spent 3 hours measuring a wall, hung one frame, and it still looked off center

I moved into a place in Austin last fall and have this big 9 foot wall in the hallway that's been naked since day one. I measured it like six times, marked the center, even used a laser level my buddy loaned me, and hung a single 24x36 print. Walked back to the kitchen for coffee, came back, and it was visually tilted because the wall has a slight slope at the top and the frame sat an inch lower on the right side. My fix was to actually hang it with two hooks instead of one wire, which let me adjust it in place without re-drilling. Now I'm paranoid about every frame I own, so what do you all do for walls that are just a little off, not visibly crooked but enough to mess with your eye?
