Picked a big gallery frame over a cluster of small ones and instantly regretted it

I went with one giant 40 inch frame for my living room wall instead of a bunch of smaller frames and now the whole room feels off balance. Anyone else try a single big piece and wish they'd gone with a collage instead?

Saw a contractor on YouTube say this happens when the primer and paint aren't compatible. Might be worth checking what brand you used before.
