My neighbor's comment about my entryway wall made me rethink everything

So yesterday my neighbor Judy came over to borrow a drill and she looked at my big blank entryway wall and said "you know, sometimes a wall just needs a good mirror, not art." I've been stressing for 6 months trying to find the perfect painting for that spot. She pointed out that with my narrow hallway, a mirror would bounce light around and make it feel twice as big. Now I'm actually measuring for a round mirror instead of scrolling through Etsy prints again. Has anyone else had a friend or relative suggest something totally obvious that you had overlooked?

Is a mirror really gonna change your life that much though? It's just a reflection of your same hallway. People act like a piece of glass fixes everything when you could just throw up any random art and call it a day.
