My dad swore I needed a gallery wall in my living room. I finally took his advice after 3 years of staring at a blank wall.
My dad kept telling me to do a big gallery wall over my couch in my apartment in Austin. I thought it would look cluttered and messy so I ignored him for like 3 years. Last month I finally put one up with 12 frames and it actually makes the room feel way bigger. Has anyone else had a parent give them advice that turned out to be totally right?

..and my mom still brings it up every time she visits like she's waiting for a gold medal. I swear parents have this weird crystal ball about decorating but can't remember where they put their keys. My dad kept nagging me to hang curtains higher than the window frame. I thought he was crazy. Turns out it makes the ceilings look ten feet taller and now I'm that person who judges everyone else's curtain height. So yeah, I feel your pain. They're annoying but somehow always right about this stuff.

Isn't it wild how their random hacks just work and we spend years proving them right?
