Last tuesday my kitchen wall went from blank to full in one afternoon

I had this big empty spot above my stove for like 8 months, just staring at me every time I cooked. My sister brought over a cheap metal shelf she found at a garage sale, and after hanging it up I put three small plants and a salt pig on it. Anyone else have a random object change how they feel about a wall?

Oh great, so your kitchen went from "depressing unfinished rental" to "I have my life together" in one afternoon. Love that for you. That salt pig is doing some heavy lifting in the decor department, I guess. I hung a single coat hook by my front door once and suddenly felt like I was living in a Pottery Barn catalog instead of a closet. It's wild how one random shelf or hook can trick your brain into thinking you're a functional adult.

@cameron_palmer nailed it about the tricking your brain part. I hung a single small mirror in my hallway last month and suddenly the whole space felt bigger and brighter. It's funny how one little thing can totally change the vibe of a room. The plants probably help your kitchen feel alive too, even if it's just three tiny ones on a shelf.
