I tried hanging one big statement piece vs a grid of 6 small frames in my hallway, and the grid won
So my hallway wall sat bare for 4 months while I argued with myself about what to do with it. Last month I finally just taped up a big single canvas, like 40 by 40, and it felt weird and floaty on that long wall. Then my neighbor suggested a grid of 6 small frames, 3 across and 2 down, and I mocked it up with paper squares the same night. The grid actually made the whole hallway feel wider and filled the space way better than the one big piece did. The single canvas was $85 and the frames plus prints came to about $110, so not a huge price gap either. Now I'm second guessing the grid though, is 6 too busy for a narrow hall?
