My hallway is 3 feet wide and I was about to hang a 4 foot round mirror on the only open wall. Then a guy at the frame shop in Boise told me that mirrors only trick the eye if they reflect something worth looking at, not a blank opposite wall. He said a narrow gallery of 5 small frames would actually push the space out more because your eye follows the line. I hung 5 cheap 5x7 prints from a thrift store instead and the hall feels wider already. Has anyone else heard that mirrors can backfire in tight spots like this?
