Gallery wall or one big piece - which route actually saves you money?

I spent $250 on a single oversized canvas print for my living room wall and it looks clean but now the rest of the wall feels empty. My buddy went cheap with a $60 set of 9 small frames from Target and his wall looks busy in a bad way. Which approach has worked for you guys long term?

Wait, sixty bucks for NINE framed pieces from Target? How in the world did he pull that off without them looking like straight-up poster board? I've seen those sets and half the time the frames are so flimsy they warp after a month. A single big piece at $250 sounds like a solid investment to me, especially if you get a high quality print with a nice chunky frame. Honestly, I'd rather have one statement piece that anchors the room than a bunch of cheap little frames fighting for attention all day long.

Ngl, I gotta disagree with you there. My buddy did that exact Target hack for his living room and it actually looks solid - he used the same frame style for all nine and grouped them tight on one wall so it reads like a single big piece. The cheap frames do warp if you put them near a window or in a damp room, but if you keep em out of direct sunlight they hold up fine for years. I'd take that $250 and put it toward something else in the room, like better lighting or a nice rug, rather than locking it into one big print.
