Switched from a hand crank blower to an electric one and I'm not going back
Been running my forge with an old hand crank blower my grandpa gave me for about 5 years. Always thought it built character or whatever. Last month a buddy let me try his electric blower at a demo in Springfield and I couldn't believe the difference. Steady air flow the whole time, no stopping to catch my breath every 20 minutes. My forge temps are way more consistent now. I still love the old one for the garage wall decoration but for actual work? Electric wins hands down. Any of you guys make the switch and regret it?

Read a forum post where a guy said switching to electric made his coal forge run way cleaner with less smoke. Did you notice that too with yours?

Saw a blacksmithing video where the guy mentioned electric blowers cut down the smoke by a lot, said it was a game changer for his shop. You thinking of switching over too?
