Swapped my coal forge for a gas one last month, still getting used to it

I ran a coal forge for like 8 years in Austin and thought gas would feel like cheating. But the heat control is way nicer for doing leaf springs, no waiting on the fire to catch. Anyone else switch and miss the old setup or is gas just better for small shops?
