Retired my 1960s treadle hammer for a new one last month

I used my grandfather's old treadle hammer, the one with the leather belt that slipped every 10 minutes, for almost 20 years. Last month I finally swapped it out for a refurbished 50lb Little Giant, which cost me $1,400 after delivery from a guy in Springfield. The difference is wild, I used to spend half my day re-tensioning that belt and now I just hit the foot pedal and it runs smooth. Anyone else hang onto old gear way longer than they should, just out of habit or family pride?
