I honestly think a coal forge beats a gas forge for most traditional work

After 5 years of running a gas forge, I switched to coal last month and my scrollwork came out way cleaner with way less scale, does anyone else prefer the old school heat control?

Honestly, isn't it funny how the old way often wins out once you really get into the details? It reminds me how simple tools like a hand plane still beat a power sander for getting a finish just right. There's a real difference when you're the one controlling the heat or the cut, not just relying on a machine to do the work.

Wait, you're saying a hand plane actually beats a power sander? That's wild.
