Hit 500 railroad spikes in the bucket last Saturday, thought the count was off
I keep a old bucket by the anvil and I drop every finished spike in it, mostly so I can tell myself I'm getting somewhere. Counted them out Saturday morning before the forge got going and there were 500 of the things, which is way more than I figured for since January. They're not fancy, just plant hangers and hooks for the farmers market in Lancaster, but seeing the number written on the lid made the whole winter feel worth it. What do you all do to keep track of output, or am I the only one counting spikes like a weirdo?
