What made me finally stop watching shows week to week

I was that person who always watched shows as they aired, one episode per week like a good little viewer. Last summer I decided to try binging Succession since everyone kept talking about it and I had the whole series available. Man, the way the plot threads stayed fresh in my head from one episode to the next made the whole experience way better for me. I realized I spent half of each weekly episode trying to remember what happened seven days ago. Now I wait until at least half a season is out before I start anything new, keeps the momentum going. Has anyone else made the switch from weekly watching to binging and found it totally changes how you feel about the show?

the way the plot threads stayed fresh in my head" is exactly it, but here's a weird thing I noticed. When I binge, I actually get way more attached to minor characters because I see them more often without forgetting their names or roles between weeks. Like, on weekly shows I'd be like "who is that guy again?" and by the time I remembered, the episode was over. But binging makes every side character feel like part of the family, you know?

Do you rewatch earlier episodes to catch their names again, or just roll with it?
