Unpopular opinion: The Bear season 2 is way better than season 1

Everyone raves about season 1 of The Bear with all that chaotic kitchen energy, but I think season 2 is the real gem. The shift from nonstop stress to actual character growth happened over just a few episodes, and that fork episode changed everything for me. Richie's whole transformation felt earned because they showed him slowly figuring things out instead of just yelling at people. Season 1 was great for setting up the tension, but season 2 proved they could do more than just anxiety porn. Anyone else think the quieter moments in season 2 hit harder than the meltdowns in season 1?

Used to be a season 1 truther. Thought the chaos was what made the show special. But that fork episode with Richie working the fancy restaurant completely flipped my view. Seeing him actually care about something and figure out his place in the world was way more satisfying than watching him scream at people for 30 minutes. Season 2 had real heart underneath all the noise, and that matters more.

That's actually not Richie's fork episode. Everyone calls it that but the whole point of that episode is it's not about the forks. It's about the napkins. Richie learns to fold napkins and that's what changes him. The whole fork thing is just what gets him in the door. The real breakthrough happens when he realizes folding napkins right shows you care about the people eating. Forks are just the excuse for him to get there. Still a great episode though, just wanted to point that out.
