Tried watching a show with my wife's book club rules, no phones no pausing
We watched the first episode of Dark on Netflix with zero distractions, like we were in a theater. Found out you miss about half the plot threads if you're scrolling through your phone. Has anyone else tried watching a complicated show completely screen-free?

Got a buddy who tried this with his wife during the first season of Mr. Robot. He said it was a total game changer because he finally caught the hidden details in the background that he'd normally miss. I mean, I've tried putting my phone in the other room for stuff like Ozark and it really does make a difference. Maybe it's just me but I feel like you actually remember the plot better when you're not half paying attention.

@lucas_carr24 yeah that Mr. Robot thing makes sense, that show is packed with stuff in the background. I tried the phone trick with Breaking Bad once and ended up noticing a totally random coffee mug on a table that tied into a later scene. But here's the thing - I still forget half the plot anyway because my brain just wanders off. Guess some of us are hopeless no matter what we do.
