The streaming stat that made me feel ancient about TV

Tbh I was reading about how shows used to run 22 episodes a season and now the average is closer to 8 or 10. Found this breakdown on a TV history blog last night and it hit me that I grew up waiting week to week for 22 episodes of Buffy or whatever. Now my niece binges a whole season of something in a weekend and asks why there's no cliffhanger for next week. The craziest part was the stat that before 2010, most shows had to fill 44 minutes of air time, but now episodes can be anywhere from 30 to 60 minutes depending on the platform. It just made me realize how much the whole rhythm of watching TV changed in like 15 years. Anyone else feel like they're from a different era when they hear someone say they finished a series in two days?
