The OA is way better than Dark for anyone who wants a show that actually has a soul
I binge-watched both last month and The OA made me cry 4 times while Dark just left me confused and cold, has anyone else found that emotional payoff matters way more than complicated plot twists?

Four times crying from The OA huh? That show hit me so hard in the gut during the cafeteria scene I had to pause and just breathe for a minute. Dark was definitely impressive with all its time loops but it never made me feel anything close to that raw emotional punch.

Oh that cafeteria scene, you're absolutely right. That was one of the most gut-wrenching moments I've ever seen on television. I had to pause and just sit there in the dark too, trying to collect myself before I could keep watching. What gets me is how they built up to that moment so slowly, with all those little details about the shooter and the kids just living their normal lives. It felt so real, like something you'd actually see on the news, but with this extra layer of emotional weight because you knew these characters. Dark was clever and well made, sure, but it never made me sob into my pillow like The OA did multiple times.
