That one show where the soundtrack completely took over my life
I was at my brother's place last weekend and he put on season 2 of The Bear. I was half watching while scrolling on my phone but then that episode with the fork in the spoon drawer came on and I couldn't look away. The whole show just hits different when you actually pay attention to how they use music to build tension. Nothing else I've tried since has come close to that same energy. Anyone got a rec that has a soundtrack that works just as hard?

The Bear uses music like a secret weapon. That fork in the spoon drawer scene had me holding my breath. One show that does the same thing is Atlanta. The soundtrack is just as carefully picked, but it's weirder and more unexpected. It adds this whole extra layer of anxiety and humor that you don't see coming until you've watched a few episodes.

I gotta push back a little on calling it a "secret weapon" @ellis.jennifer. Like yeah, the music in The Bear is good, but a secret weapon? That feels like a stretch. That fork scene worked because of the acting and the stress, not just whatever song was playing. And Atlanta's weirder, sure, but weird doesn't always mean better. Sometimes a show just has a solid playlist and people act like it's some deep artistic choice. I dunno, maybe I'm just not as tuned into the soundtrack as you are.
