Old school DVD marathons vs. streaming binges, which is the real deal?

I used to block out a whole weekend for a 24 episode season on DVD, rewinding if I missed a line (that took forever). Now I just autoplay through three seasons in a night, but I don't even remember half the plot points. Am I the only one who thinks the forced pauses made shows stick better, or is the instant access worth it?

Man, the autoplay is where it's at. Remember sitting through 30 seconds of FBI warnings and menu screens every time? That was pure waste. Give me the next episode in 3 seconds any day, my brain might forget the details but at least I get to see the whole story before I fall asleep.
