My sister's 4 AM subtitles habit completely wrecked my binge flow

She came to visit last month and refused to watch anything without subtitles, even comedies. I used to just let dialogue wash over me, but now I catch myself reading every line and pausing if I miss a word. Last night I realized I've been rewinding scenes for a single mumbled sentence that I never cared about before. Has anyone else had their watching style permanently altered by a houseguest's preference?

Honestly @cooper.taylor nailed it, once your brain flips that switch it's basically a permanent setting. Tbh I hit the same wall after my roommate did this, and now I can't watch anything without captions even if the audio is perfect, it's like my ears just turn off.
