My $300 streaming stick died after 3 months, lesson learned hard
I bought a cheap streaming stick off Amazon for $300 back in February to watch all my shows. It worked great for about 6 weeks, started buffering bad, then just stopped turning on completely. I reached out to the seller and they said sorry no refunds after 30 days. Now I stuck with a dead stick and have to use my laptop to binge watch everything. Has anyone else gotten burned buying those off brand streaming devices?

Lesson learned hard" is right - sounds like you learned the $300 version of that lesson. I mean, for that price you could have gotten a name brand stick that probably wouldn't have died on you before the warranty expired. Hope your laptop handles the binge-watching better than that thing handled existing (and sorry, I'm still laughing at spending $300 on a "cheap" streaming stick).

Wait, did you actually try a name brand stick before or did you just assume they were all overpriced? I used to think spending more on the "real" stuff was a scam, but after trying a cheap Fire Stick that glitched out after two months and then a Roku that's still going strong two years later, I totally get it now. @tessa_rivera you're right, sometimes the savings aren't worth the headache. I mean, I'd rather pay $100 once than $300 in replacements and frustration.
