Is 22 episodes a season too many or too few? The 90s vs today debate
I just finished a 90s show with 22 episodes per season and now I'm watching a 2024 show with 8. Back then you'd get 3 or 4 filler episodes mixed in with the real plot. Now every episode feels like a movie but you blink and the season is over in a weekend. Which do you prefer? Does the shorter format actually make for better storytelling or just leave you wanting more?

I grew up on 90s episodes so 22 feels normal to me, but I can't lie I watched 4 seasons of some modern show in one weekend and felt like I barely knew the characters. People act like filler is the end of the world but that's where you actually get to know the side characters and just vibe.

Did you ever catch that one episode of Star Trek where @cooper.reese says they spent the whole time fixing a replicator?
