Gave up on that hyped sci-fi epic after 14 episodes, wish I stopped at 3

Everyone kept saying The Expanse gets better after season 2, so I forced myself through the first season and change. That was about 14 hours of my life I want back, and I only made it halfway through the second season before I tapped out. The pacing was brutal and I kept mixing up the Belters, honestly it felt like homework. I get that some shows need time to cook but this one just never clicked for me. Anyone else push through a show everyone loves and regret the time you sunk into it?
