Blew through 40 bucks on a show I hated after three episodes
I saw everyone raving about that new spy thriller "Nightfall Protocol" on Prime so I bought the whole season pass for $40. After three episodes I realized the main character is just standing around looking serious while other people explain stuff to him. Has anyone else wasted money on a show that turned out to be all hype?

Standing around looking serious while other people explain stuff to him" - that's exactly what got me too. I used to think I was just being picky about shows, like maybe I wasn't giving them enough of a chance. But after burning through three episodes of that and feeling nothing but annoyed, I realized I'd been making excuses for bad writing. The hype train ran me over and I ended up with a $40 lesson about trusting random internet buzz instead of actually reading real reviews first.

... I actually used to defend shows like that, thought people were too harsh. Like with "The Horizon" last year, I kept telling myself the slow pacing was building tension and the main guy's blank stare was depth or whatever. But naw, after sitting through two more episodes of Nightfall Protocol where the guy literally watches a computer screen for ten minutes while someone feeds him exposition... I get it now. It's just expensive background noise dressed up like a show. $40 is a lot to pay for realizing you've been making excuses for boring TV.
