Just found out my city spent $400k on bike lanes that don't connect anywhere
I was reading the city budget report online last night and saw a line item for $400,000 in bike lane construction last year. Problem is, I checked the map and these new lanes end abruptly at a busy intersection with no connection to any other bike path. How is this supposed to help anyone when you gotta merge with traffic right there?

Merging with traffic at a busy intersection after spending $400k sounds like a disaster waiting to happen. Its like they just painted lines on the ground without thinking about how people actually get around. I ride my bike to work sometimes and I would be furious if a lane dropped me off in the middle of a four lane road. Total waste of money that could have gone to something useful like fixing potholes.

Snap those guardrails up because we're in for a wild ride! $400k for a bike lane that yeets you into four lanes of traffic is like paying for a fancy new slide that drops you into a bear pit. I bet the engineers took one look at that intersection and said "good luck, cyclist, you're on your own!" They could have at least thrown in a free whistle to warn the cars. What a joke.
