Green light timing trick finally got me through the 5th street gauntlet

You know that stretch of 5th street downtown where the bike lane just ends and you're stuck between parked cars and buses? For months I'd time it wrong and end up eating exhaust. Then last week I noticed the crosswalk countdown at the corner of Oak hits zero exactly when the light 200 feet ahead turns green. So now I watch that timer, not the light right in front of me. I roll up just as the signal flips and I sail through all three intersections without stopping. Took me about 15 tries to figure out the rhythm, but now it's like a dance. Anyone else got a weird timing hack for a specific intersection that drives you nuts?
