Got bumped by a car door on Grand Ave last week, now I ride in the middle of the lane, am I wrong here?
Riding home on Grand Ave near the post office last Tuesday, a guy in a parked Civic swung his door wide and clipped my handlebar, I stayed up but my mirror snapped off. Now I take the full lane on that whole stretch so nobody can door me again. Half the drivers behind me lay on the horn, and one guy yelled that I should stick to the side like a bike is supposed to. My take is a door to the face beats a horn every time, but I want to hear from people who ride this street daily. Do you take the lane there or hug the parked cars and hope for the best?
