Vent: My pannier got caught in my spokes at the corner of 3rd and Pine

I was turning left near the coffee shop downtown when my bag swung sideways and jammed into the wheel... I ended up spending 10 minutes untangling fabric on the curb with cars honking. Has anyone else had this happen with side-loading panniers?

Panniers really love finding new ways to embarrass us in public...

Did you have the hooks facing the right way? I had the same problem on my old bike until a shop guy showed me my panniers were sitting too far back on the rack. I slid them forward so the bag sits closer to the bike frame and that fixed the wobble. Also switched to the roll-top style with compression straps on top, which keeps everything tight and low. Might be worth checking your rack width too, some cheap racks are too narrow and let the bag lean into the wheel.
