Unpopular take: skip the fancy rain pants, get cheap rain chaps instead
I rode through a proper downpour in Portland last week and my $25 rain chaps from the hardware store kept me drier than my buddy's $120 Gore-Tex pants. The secret is they don't trap heat, so you don't sweat out from the inside. Anyone else try the budget route for wet commutes?
