Three years ago I never would have worn a rain cape

Last month I finally tried a rain cape on my commute from Portland to Beaverton. Always thought they looked goofy and would catch too much wind. But after three years of fighting with wet pits from breathable jackets, I gave in. Got a cheap one from a bike coop downtown for $15, and honestly it works better than anything I had before. Has anyone else made the switch?

Rain capes aren't that different from just wearing a regular poncho though.
