Chain snapped on the Manhattan Bridge at 7:40am, chain tool fix vs. call a cab to the office?
So my chain popped halfway up the bridge ramp on a Wednesday at the worst possible spot, no shoulder, and I had to walk the bike the rest of the way with my back wheel skipping. I had a quick link in my bag but my hands were shaking from the cold and I burned 15 minutes trying to get it seated right. My coworker says always carry a spare link and fix it on the spot so you never miss a meeting, but my brother swears you should just flag a cab and deal with the bike later since being late twice gets you noticed. I got it running in 20 and made it in with 4 minutes to spare, but my shirt was a mess. What do you all do when the drivetrain quits in the middle of a ride?
