I rode through six winters with my front fender set too high, thinking spray was just a fact of life. A guy at a co-op named Dale told me the fender should sit within a fingers width of the tire, and my shoes stopped looking like abstract art within a week. He also pointed out my rear fender was missing a mud flap, so I added a simple rubber one cut from an old inner tube for about $3. Has anyone else had a shop pointed out a small adjustment that made a bigger difference than any gear upgrade they bought?
