Tried using dielectric grease on my pedal threads instead of regular anti-seize

My left pedal started creaking after 3 weeks and when I pulled it off the grease had turned into this weird crusty mess that took forever to clean. Has anyone else had a bad experience with grease that's not rated for high torque stuff like pedals?

Funny enough I've actually had way better luck with dielectric grease on pedals than anti-seize. It stays put longer for me and doesn't attract as much grit. Maybe it's a temp thing or just different riding conditions.

Dielectric grease is a total no go for pedals. It just dries out and gets crusty under that kind of load. Stick with a proper anti-seize like Loctite 242 or even just a dab of marine grease, that stuff holds up way better.
