Spent $180 on a Park Tool truing stand and it sat for 8 months
When I started doing wheel work out of my garage in 2019, I dropped $180 on a Park Tool TS-2.2 thinking it would pay for itself fast, but I barely touched it for the first 8 months because I was still winging it with the frame and a zip tie. Once I actually learned how to use the feeler gauges right, that stand started saving me close to an hour on every wheel I built, which added up quick once word got around my neighborhood. Anybody else buy a tool that felt like a mistake at first, then turned into the thing you reach for every single day?
