I finally had a chat with another mechanic about using biodegradable grease. He swears by it, but my shop says it doesn't last as long. What's your experience?

Oh perfect, another thing where doing the right thing for the planet means doing more work! My experience is it disappears faster than my will to live on a Monday. The shop isn't wrong, it just doesn't last as long in the real world. Great for feeling good, bad for the customer who needs their stuff to actually hold up. Guess we have to choose between saving the seals or saving our Saturday from comebacks.

Wait, you're saying it breaks down THAT fast? That completely changes the math on using it for customer jobs. I was hoping the tech just needed more breaking in time. Sounds like the shop has a real point here.
