Found out my torque wrench was off by 15 percent after 3 years of use

I was at a shop in Portland last Tuesday and one of the old timers there said to check my torque wrench against a beam type. So I did, and it was clicking at 85 ft-lbs when I had it set to 100. Has anyone else tested their torque wrenches lately and found them way off?

Yeah man I checked mine last month and my Snap-On digital was reading 90 when I had it set to 110, so I feel your pain. It's crazy how fast those things drift without you even noticing.

Bought a cheap torque wrench off Amazon and it held up better than my old Matco.
