Always used wet lube on my chain in the dry, took a decade to figure out why it got so grimy

I spent years thinking wet lube was just heavier duty and better for everything. Cleared my drivetrain every other ride with degreaser and couldn't understand why it attracted so much grit. Finally a guy at the shop told me in the dry it just picks up all the road dust and turns to paste. Have you ever swapped between lubes seasonally or do you stick to one year round?

Stick with dry lube in summer, wet lube only when it rains.

Yeah totally @bell.emma nailed it. I used to run wet lube all year too and my drivetrain looked like a tar pit. Switched to dry lube for summer and it stays so much cleaner.
