A customer's comment about my torque wrench changed my whole habit

Ngl, I used to just feel out bolts by hand for years, never touched a torque wrench. Last month a guy watched me tighten his stem and said, 'you know that's a 5nm bolt, right?' I checked the spec and he was spot on. Now I keep a torque wrench on the bench and use it for every carbon part, even the saddle rails. Has anyone else had a customer call them out like that?

You ever notice how some folks act like using a torque wrench is overkill, but the second a carbon part cracks, they're crying about it? I had a guy bring in a seatpost that looked like someone took a hammer to it, and sure enough, it was from overtightening by hand. What makes you think you can feel 5nm without years of practice? That's the kind of guesswork that turns a decent bike into a pile of expensive splinters.
