That $130 clipper sharpening kit was a total scam for me

Bought one of those mail-in sharpening kits off Instagram last month for $130, sent in three pairs of my good shears and two clipper blades. Got them back 11 days later and they felt duller than before I shipped them, one shear even had a nick near the pivot. Called the guy and he blamed my technique, said I was cutting too close to the hairline, which made zero sense. I ended up taking everything to a local guy here in Austin who charges $8 per blade and did them while I waited. Anyone else get burned by one of these mail-order sharpening deals, or am I the only sucker who fell for that ad?
