Saw a shop in Fresno using clippers with no guard and it scared me

Stopped by a place on Blackstone Ave while visiting my brother two weeks ago. Guy at the next chair was running a bare blade up a kid's sides with no guard at all, just freehand. Kid flinched twice and the barber didn't slow down once. I get moving fast on a busy Saturday, but that's how you take a chunk out of someone's ear. Has anyone here ever had a client jerk on them mid-cut like that?
