Remember when barbershops didn't have those fancy computer scheduling systems?

I walked into a new shop last week and they had a tablet at every station for booking appointments, which got me thinking back to when I started cutting hair 15 years ago in Tulsa. Back then we just had a paper notebook with a pencil and if you forgot to write someone down, you were scrambling to squeeze them in between walk-ins. Does anyone else miss the simplicity of the old days or am I just being a grumpy old timer about this?

Understand completely @drew805, the waiting room was its own little community back then. That paper system had its own rhythm, even if it meant sitting around for an hour sometimes. I think we traded something real for that convenience.

Fifteen years ago is still pretty modern, my friend. Try thirty years back when they didn't have computers at all and you just showed up and waited your turn.
