Rant: My fade blend was trash for months until I tried a 0.5 guard on a dry hairline

Been cutting for 3 years and always fought with that fuzzy line between skin and no guard, but yesterday on a walk-in off the street I used a half guard on completely dry hair and the blend came out smooth as butter - has anyone else found that dry cutting makes the difference or is that just my clippers?

0.5 guard on dry is the move for sure. I started doing that about a year ago and it killed the shadow line I used to get.

Laughing at myself a little because I used to be so terrified of going that short on the guard... but then I tried it on a whim and it was a total game changer. @noah_rivera57 you're right about the shadow line disappearing, I think my barber was keeping me scared of it for years just to sell me more product or something. Now I just buzz it all off and call it a day... saves so much time in the morning honestly.
